Blackfoot Pathways: Sculpture in the Wild
This project has been our most enduring endeavor to date, extending from 2014 to the present day. A referral led us to embark on this journey just as we had completed an assignment for the Crown of the Content with Nature Conservancy and the US Forest Service. Local members in Lincoln, Montana, suggested our production company when a new sculpture park was in its nascent stages, a suggestion that intrigued us from its inception.
Initially, our involvement consisted of creating a video documenting the international artist symposium’s proceedings, meticulously following each artist as they brought their public art pieces to life. Through interviews, photography, and even footage from a cherry picker, we captured the essence of the project. As time progressed, so did the project’s scale, expanding to encompass the design of signage, print booklets, maps, and an ‘Artist Talks Series’ under the guidance of the park’s artistic director.
Every year, barring the exception of the pandemic-affected year of 2020, we have revisited this remarkable place to document its evolution and the emergence of new works of art. Our involvement in the growth of the Sculpture Park has been immensely fulfilling, and we are proud to possess an extensive archive of footage that chronicles the entire history of Blackfoot Pathways Sculpture in the Wild. Some of this footage remains awaiting funding for its full utilization, a testament to the depth and breadth of our engagement with this project over the years.
